Michael Gilmour Associates is a medium sized architectural practice. We work from a modern studio in the West End of Aberdeen, from which we have carried out projects across Scotland, England and abroad.

The office has long prided itself on being design led. In order to maintain this position, we have adopted a policy of promoting quality design above all other considerations. This is not to say that we ignore the many other aspects of architecture, such as functionality and economy, but that without the added value of design quality, these aspects will lead to mediocrity.

Finally, we believe that the only aspect of design which leads to lasting change is that of technology, and if we wish to produce the best possible value, we must be able to adopt the most appropriate technology available at any point in time.

August 2011 - Construction Works Completed
£1 Million commerical fit out works have now been completed at Kirkhill House, Dyce with the building successfully handed over to the client on programme and on budget. The building is now home to 120 Schlumbgerer personnel, specialising in Information Services. The project works included the installation of specialist services, kitchen/servery facilities, open plan and cellular offices as well as dedicated computer data centre and specialist client training facilities.

May 2011 - Website Update
Projects and project sheet downloads have been updated in line with recent progress made in each project. Additional projects have been added, Castletown residential, Laurencekirk Masterplanning and Insch Residential

March 2011 - Aberdeen Society of Architects - Award Winners
At an Awards ceremony and dinner on Friday 11 March, MGA were presented with 3 awards for completed projects. The inaugrial ASA awards were selected from projects completed over the past 5 years, with Commendations, Awards and Distinctions being presented across 6 development categories..

Subsea7 Campus was awarded a COMMENDATION in the Public/Commercial category
Denmark Street, Fraserburgh was awarded COMMENDATION in the Residential category
Murray Place, Portsoy was awarded DISTINCTION in the Residential category
