Murray Place Homezone, Portsoy
for Tenants First Housing Co-operative
Development Value £1,500,000
Situated to the west of the existing village of Portsoy, the development consists of 20 houses arranged around a courtyard, designed to follow ‘Homezone’ principles. This is one of the first in Aberdeenshire to adopt these design principles and aims to remove the traditional boundaries between vehicles and pedestrians, integrating them to one space.
The housing is a mixture of 2, 3 and 4 bed housing, with a community house for 4 disabled occupants integrated to the community.
The development was awarded Highly Commended for Housing in 2006 Aberdeenshire Design Awards
The development was also awarded Distinction in Residential category of the 2010 Aberdeen Society of Architects Awards
